As much as I love makeup, weekdays for me are generally all about putting in the minimum amount of effort to look presentable. Just enough products to mask the less than 6 hours of sleep and a bit too much fun on the weekend. And something I can pop on in a 7 min cab ride.

There is one brand that has completely blown my socks off and fits right into my work week routine. That’s IT cosmetics and the first product I tried was their CC creams thanks to Emily Noel and The Anna Edit on youtube.

I went in at Sephora when they first launched the band in Singapore. I really couldn’t decide between the original and the “Illumination” version. I also could not figure out what shade would be a better match between Light and Fair. So I decided to buy the original version in Fair and the Illumination version in Light. The best part about both products is that you can literally use both on bare skin without any moisturiser and it does a pretty darn good job of offering moisture, medium coverage and UV protection with SPF 50. It’s basically a lazy girl’s dream.

The original formula is a creamy texture that blends in very easily. The finish is very skin-like – almost as-if you’re not really wearing any foundation. While it’s not a dewy finish, it somehow never clings to any dry areas so on days i’ve literally brushed my teeth and changed my clothes before leaving for work, it still does a good job of keeping my face feeling hydrated and not tight all day long. However the color Fair is a bit too light for me so when I wear it by itself, I need a heavy-ish serving of a nice bronzer.

The “Illumination” formula definitely has a dewy finish. On a closer look, the formula does have very very fine shimmer running through it that doesn’t really show up on the face. The texture is a little bit mure liquid-y vs the original but definitely has the same amount of coverage. The shade Light is a tad too dark for me but I can definitely make it work. Given that I have combination skin and live in a hot & humid country, I definitely need to powder down my T-zone when I use this. I not only love taking this one with me on beach holidays but it’s one of my top choices for my everyday handbag.

All in all, I love both the versions and would repurchase the original formula in Light once i am done with my first tube. Definitely one of the best multi-purpose skin products on the market that is pretty much fool proof if you have the right shade.
