I had heard so many good things about the H&M beauty collection when they first launched, I could not wait to get my hands on some of the goodies. During my holiday in France this summer, I did see some stuff that I liked but i had no time to really browse and pick out what I wanted so I left empty-handed. But much to my joy, they launched in Singapore just about a month ago and on one saturday afternoon, I had all the time in the world to spend browsing. I practically entered the shop skipping. 🙂
All products were under SGD20 and the range is absolutely massive – bath & body, hair, tools, brushes and a humungous makeup collection.
First up – bath and body. I picked up 3 and they make my bathroom look all scandinavian and chic. Amazing job on packaging H&M!
The Cashmere Haze hand wash smells divine – very warm but still clean & fresh. I love anything sandalwood smelling and this one is gorgeous and subtle. The formula itself is great, cleans well and does not dry out my hands at all. I will definitely repurchase this.
I was super interested when I saw the Revelation Shower Oil. I am always on the lookout for shower oils because my skin gets dry and itchy if i use any harsh gel-type shower products. This one looked like a great dupe for the Loccitane Almond Shower Oil at a fraction of the cost. And after using it, I’d say beside the scent, it’s a 90% dupe. The scent’s fresh and almost leafy/herbal and doesn’t really linger. The product itself is moisturising and turns into a rich lather when applied to wet skin. I still prefer the Loccitane one but I think it’s great budget shower oil!
I also purchased the Intuition Shower Cream. This was again a total winner for me. It cleaned well, was moisturising but didn’t leave a weird residue or anything on the skin after i washed it off. And the scent is absolutely beautiful and this one actually lingers on a little bit .
Next up – the makeup! Again absolutely incredible packaging – so modern and chic (did I already say chic before?). The off white and gold just makes me want to buy everything and put it all on display! LOL
The powder blush in Frosty Pink is a very close dupe of one of my favourite blushes from MAC – Well Dressed. And after using it non-stop for a month, might I dare say i think it might even be better. It’s a soft, subtle pink that works with pretty much any makeup. There is a tiny bit of super fine shimmer which really does not show up on the skin and so I would say it’s an almost matte blush. The formula is perfect – so easy to blend and you can’t over do it which is the number one thing I look for in a great blush. I like the shade so much, i want to buy a backup even though I have enough blush to last my grand daughter through her 50s.
The nail polish collection they have is at least over 40 different shades. I just bought one shade – a powder blue one called Sky High and it did not disappoint. The formula is plush and super easy to apply. You could just do one coat and definitely get away with it. I did two coats and my nails only had very minor chips by the 6th day.
The Halo Illuminator in shade Champagne Gold is a liquid highlighter. I was curious to see how close it would be to the BECCA shimmering skin perfector. And right i was. This shade is slightly paler than BECCA’s champagne pop and i think it’s a bit more subtle than the BECCA offering. For 1/5th the price, this is an amazing product for a very very similar effect. I am super happy with it.
I bought 2 of the Color Essence Eye Pencils – Panther being a jet black and Raw Umber being a beautiful bronzey brown (which was totally enabled by Anna from The Anna Edit). Both are super long lasting and smooth to apply. Easy to smudge out to get that smokey effect and after a few seconds, the color sets and doesn’t move. Definitely some of the best eye pencils I have tried and I am planning to buy some for my mum!
Now for the eyes – i bought 4 single eyeshadows and one cream shadow pot and one eye blending brush.
From left to right above – Paradise Lost, Baci Di Dama, Candied Almond & Chin Chin. Each of them are super pigmented and a pleasure to apply and blend. Paradise Lost is a peachy gold-ey color with super fine shimmer that really catches the eye. Baci Di Dama is a warm pale brown with a satin finish and is one of those everyday use no brainer colors that really make your eyes look brighter in a very subtle no-makeup manner. This one was a Lily Pebbles enabled purchase along with Candied Almond which is completely matte medium warm brown that is a superb shade to have in anyone’s collection. I am so impressed with this formula as a lot drugstore brands can’t really do matte eyeshadow very well, but this one is so pigmented and buttery smooth, it’s been in my everyday makeup drawer since i bought it. Chin Chin is a pale gold with delicate shimmer and again something i would use everyday to add a bit of sparkle without going overboard.
The cream shadow is called Cream Fusion Eye Color and I got the shade Champers. This shade is a little deeper vs Baci Di Dama – tad bronzier and again makes a great everyday eyeshadow. It has very subtle barely there shimmer and the formula lasts ALL DAY without creasing. It’s a mousse like texture and super easy to dip a brush or a finger and blend it on those lazy days where you don’t want to think too much.
Last but not the least, I bought one makeup brush to see how the quality was. I decided to get the Medium Blending Brush. Even though the brush hairs did not look like the softest hairs you can find like the zoeva ones but when I actually used the brush, it was not scratchy and quite comfortable to work with. SO i would totally go and try some more of the makeup brushes from the range cos finding affordable good quality brushes ain’t easy.
So those were my picks. I did not buy any lip products as a lot of the shades i wanted to try were out of stock. So I will plan on a second visit and keep you posted! All in all, I was super impressed with the quality of all of the products in the collection especially given the price! Big thumbs up from me!
