I didn’t really need a foundation but after longing to buy a Burberry beauty product from the tangs Burberry counter, I finally gave in and got it.
The makeup artist first matched me to no.5 but when I saw it in broad daylight the next morning, it was definitely a tad too orange fr my nc15-nc20 skin color. So I got it exchanged fr No. 4 which is a perfect match for me.
The foundation itself? FABULOUS is the word!! The formula is on the thicker creamier side (less runny compared to chanel pro lumiere). Blends very easily using fingers or a buffing brush. It has sheer to medium coverage ( similar to the coverage that Laura mercier tinted moisturizer has). When applied to my combo-oily skin, the finish is “natural matte” but within an hour due to my natural oils I guess, the finish turns to slightly dewy. So in other words, it’s not flat matte or overly glowy. The dewiness is less than Chanel pro lumiere but definitely more than Estée lauder double wear light. i.e. the finish is PERFECT for me!
It smells very nice but nothing over powering and the fragrance vanishes within minutes of applying. The bestest part is that it hasn’t broken me out at all (my skin’s been behaving very well lately 🙂 ) and I’ve been using it 4-5 times a week fr 2 weeks now. Chanel vita lumiere aqua definitely broke me out and i assume it was the fragrance. It lasts 6-8 hours but I powder my t zone once or twice in a day. and it doesn’t shift around or go funny around the noes and between the brows. It really looks quite flawless with a “no makeup” finish on the face. Extremely hard to detect once applied.
The packaging is obviously gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!!!! The pump is surprisingly easy to control. The ideal amount fr a sheer coverage on my face is 1.5 pumps.
So overall, definitely very very impressed. Even for the S$77 price tag I would repurchase when I run out. But given how little I need fr one application, I might only get through one bottle by next year!
The foundation comes in 9 shades but the first 5 are quite pale … Maybe nc/nw25 and below. So darker skin tones might not be very lucky with this one.
Has anyone else tried it yet??
Let me know what you think. Definite must try from my side.
